Time to enjoy Friday!

In continuing with our Brown Bear theme, I read Baby Bear, Baby Bear What Do You See? today. Did you like seeing all different types of animals? Which is you favorite? I really love them all!

This blog is to help all of you through this time at home. These are all suggestions for you to have in one location; if you find, that you need additional resources for your child. Our key word is Flexible and that is very important when working with young children. If you are in need of other resources, please just contact me. Remember to refer to previous posts to repeat an activity that was a favorite. I will continue to send a morning email each school day with links to this page, my video, along with Ms. Cosgrove's morning message. It is important to email me your child's attendance, by 10am, each day so I may record it. Please continue to email me your pictures. I love seeing your faces! I am only an email away from answering any questions or concerns that may arise.

What will you do this weekend? I hope to go for a long walk with my family and of course, Zoey. She runs to the door as soon as I say the word, "walk." Zoey is definitely loving her family being home.

Have a Fabulous Friday and enjoy your weekend!

Suggested Activities

Baby Bear, Baby Bear Read ALoud

Here a link to the story, Baby Bear, Baby Bear What Do You See?, I read today.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear Mask

Draw the various shapes to create your Brown Bear mask. You may have them trace and cut out the paper plate, construction paper circles or you can have them already prepped for them to glue. Once the Brown Bear mask has been constructed let the kids decorate their puppet -however they want. Your child should do as much of the activity as possible independently.

If you do not have all the supplies, no worries - use any materials that you do have on hand. No paper plate - brown paper - color paper brown. Be creative, make any animal mask from the story. While working with this activity, you are encouraging language, academic, as well as motor skills. Ask how many circles? What color? What do we glue next? Refer back to the book so your child can retell/recall the story.

Roll and Count

If using 1 die write numbers 1 - 6, two dice numbers 1-12 all mixed up on a paper. Have your child roll the die/dice - count the dots. Color the corresponding number on the sheet. If your child needs assistance naming numbers, use number cards to have your child match the number to the corresponding dots from the roll. Make a game into this activity by taking turns with your child.
