These activities promote a variety of developmental skills such as hand and eye coordination, concentration, writing skills, language skills, pre readiness cognitive skills, creativity and imagination and self esteem - a sense of pride and achievement.
The daily suggested activities for your preschooler are listed below. These are all suggestions for you to have in one location; if you find, that you need additional resources for your child. Our key word is Flexible and that is very important when working with young children. If you are in need of other resources, please just contact me.
I will continue to send a morning email each school day with links to this page, Ms. Cosgrove's morning message, and the attendance form.
Please continue to email me your pictures. I love seeing your faces and all the fun you are having while we are apart!

Dinosaur Craft
Glue together 3 large popsicle sticks to form a triangle and allow them to dry. It is best to let the triangle sit overnight to set. Once the glue dries, paint the triangle frame. Now draw and cut out features to create your dinosaur. Remember that your preschoolers may draw and cut out all the shape details and create their very own unique dinosaurs. Allow them to experiment with different colors, shapes, etc. Once triangle frame is dry, glue paper to popsicle stick triangle finish your dinosaur. If you have, you may want to add a magnet to back to display this cute dinosaur.
Dinosaur Number Stomp
Print the dinosaur stomp page and cut out the footprints. No printer - write numbers 1 - 10 on drawn dinosaur footprints. Print as many pages as needed for the activity — using 10 footprints would be a good number to work with. No printer - draw dinosaur footprints. Add one number 1-10 on each footprint. Spread them around the floor. Start with the numbers in order placed in a big circle. Play music while your preschooler travels (jumps, tip toes, stomps, etc.) from number to number. Stop the music, freeze, and identify the number. After mastering that part of the activity, rearrange the numbers out of order around the floor. Have your preschooler move and stomp in number order from 1-10 through the numbers. For an extra challenge, travel backwards through the numbers. Play a different way and have your preschooler stomp the number of times on each footprint according to the number written on it. Below link for dinosaur footprints.
Dinosaur Snacks
Use fruit and waffles to create dinosaur snacks. Strawberries, pineapples, bananas, watermelon and waffles are shown. You may use any fruit, vegetables, cheese, rice cakes, bread, or pancakes that you have on hand to assemble a dinosaur snack. These include oranges, peaches, grapes, carrots, celery, raisins... be creative!

Letter Activities and Alphabet Songs
Letter Cups
Grab a set of plastic/paper cups and letter stickers. You may write the letters on the cups with a marker, too. The pictures are examples of various letter activities you may explore with your preschooler. Too many letters at once, work on a few at a time until you feel as if your child has mastered those letters and beginning sound. Select letters of your child's name. If your child has mastered their first name, start working on last name. Extend this activity with numbers. The possibilities are many....
Rainbow Name
Have your child write their name in pencil. You may need to assist your child. Have your child trace each letter using 1 color of the rainbow for each letter. Repeat with a 2nd, 3rd, etc colors.
Sensory Writing/Play dough/Object Letters
Write your name as well as other letters and numbers in shaving cream, rice, sand, or flour. Any substance will work to give your child that sensory input when writing letters.
Use play dough to form letters. You may write a letter on a piece of paper and have your child roll out play dough to cover the letter. Cover the letter with small objects such as buttons, beads, cereal, or macaroni.
Music/Movement
Hide and Seek Dinosaurs
Draw a few quick dinosaurs on paper. Do not worry about how they look! Hide each dinosaur around the room. Make sure they are all out of view. Give directions using positional and directional words as clues double checking that your preschooler is responding correctly. Also use “hot” and “cold” as clues to add a little more fun to the game. Find all of the dinosaurs and then switch up how the game is played! For more of a challenge, have your preschooler ask questions to move around the room. For example, “Should I move sideways?” or “Should I crawl under the kitchen table?” to move closer and closer to the hidden dinosaur. Then switch roles and let your preschooler give you the directions to find the hidden dinosaurs!
